their hidden assets; and to fulfill their dreams of who they
wish to become.
-

honoring its past and understanding how it influences its present and
the future.

Support the community’s revitalization / transformational
efforts by
providing support services that capitalize on their strengths, strengthens
their weaknesses, explore new opportunities, and minimize real or
perceived threats.

and opportunities for building social capital and raising required
funds.

About Theresa Fischette
Professional Experiences
-
As Principal of White Light Communications, Theresa has eight years of
marketing communications experience developing marketing materials to
promote the assets of businesses and organizations, large or small.
-
With 25 years of experience providing technical communication services
to Rochester area corporations, Theresa has a gift for translating
abstract concepts into a simple, concrete language everyone can
understand, visualize, and apply.
Small Town Experience
-
As a parent, Theresa raised two children in the Village of Honeoye
Falls, New York. During the course of 24 years, she had the opportunity
to experience small town living at its best…literally. As a resident of
the wealthiest town in Monroe County (Mendon), Theresa leaned many did
not truly appreciate or take advantage of all its rich offerings.
-
As an empty nester, Theresa has lived the past year in the Village of
Holley in Orleans County. As an outsider looking in, she has the unique
opportunity of viewing Holley with a fresh set of eyes. It is from this
vantage point she has gained a new appreciation for what Honeoye Falls
offered. Approximately the same size of Honeoye Falls both in area size
and population, Holley is a small bedroom community located in one of
the most depressed counties in the nine-county metropolitan area of
Rochester New York; that of Orleans County. It is through this
first-hand experience that she sees their strengths and their
weaknesses; is keenly aware of potential threats (real or perceived);
and sees areas of great opportunity. In her words, “Holley has so much
untapped potential with many hidden treasures, the greatest being their
people, their scenic landscape, and their rich history as part of the
Erie Canalway Heritage. It is for these reasons and more that Holley is
a truly a ‘diamond in the rough’.”
Community Service Experience
-
As Editor of the "Visions of Holley" newsletter and blog, Theresa is
giving Holley residents a voice in which to share news of local
interests; a voice not heard in 40 years!
-
As a member of the
Village Planning Board, Theresa has
been actively involved in developing Holley’s Comprehensive Master Plan
(CMP) - a living document that, under the stewardship of the Planning
Board, establishes a common vision for what Holley will ultimately look
like 10 years from now.
-
As member of the
Orleans County Chamber of Commerce,
Theresa is gaining knowledge of the wealth of resources available to
area residents and businesses.
-
As a Corporate Sponsor of the
“Treasures of Holley Mural Project”,
Theresa developed marketing materials to promote an eight-panel mural to
be placed on a kiosk in the canal park along side the Erie Canal.
Painted by local artist, Stacey Kirby, this mural not only encourages
the public to visit Holley to learn about what it has to offer, but
educates them as to the area’s rich history as part of the Erie Canal
Heritage Trail.
